Radios, television, written press... The media were one of the major issues of the events of May 1968, both for the government and for the demonstrators. While the movement's poster artists drew the CRS at the ORTF's microphone, some media defended the students despite government pressure.

Bruno Barbey, of the Magnum agency, covers the events until mid-June. He captures the lives of demonstrators, students and workers, immortalizes the key moments, the nights of violence and confrontations, the course of those months when even the state wavered. From the start of the demonstrations, the entire press took up the subject, but only the daily Combat, born during the Second World War, is on the side of youth. At least until the violence breaks out. Philippe Tesson, who was the editor-in-chief, evokes this period in an unpublished text.
