The University of Perpignan Via Domitia, in collaboration with the International Center of Photojournalism and the Visa Pour l'Image festival, welcomes the famous cartoonist Plantu to the Mailly Campus, for a conference, on the occasion of the release of his latest work "Plantu+Reza : Crossed looks" With the presence of Reza, in video.

Based on this book, four teacher-researchers from the University of Perpignan Via Domitia have produced an unprecedented exhibition Plantu+Reza, Make eye contact/Hear the image. This exhibition, inaugurated by the designer himself, will be visible from December 11, 2021 to February 12, 2022, at the Couvent des Minimes. It prolongs the symposium "Hearing the image", organized by the CRESEM laboratory of the UPVD last September, on the occasion of the visa festival for the image. The purpose of this symposium was to reflect on the links between image and sound and on the way in which it is possible to “hear an image” or to represent a sound.

The symposium, like the exhibition, was born out of a desire to highlight photojournalism and to integrate this subject into the research themes developed at the University of Perpignan. It's about trying to decipher the image, to understand how it is constructed both in the head and on a sheet of paper, in a text, on film, a screen, a canvas or a vase.

These projects echo the creation of three new training courses: professional license "information professions, journalism and press professions" which succeeds the DU “Photojournalism, recordings and aerial images”,License "musicology visual arts course", created in partnership with the regional conservatory of Perpignan andthe master "the history of art".
